NO PREVIOUS STRIP WEEKLY NEXT STRIP LATEST STRIP CALENDAR

Well, as promised yesterday, I've uploaded the 24-hour comic I did last weekend. You can see it... uh, by clicking on the link in the previous sentence.

In other news, I've slightly revised the disclaimer at the top of the page, from this:

The strip below was drawn nine years ago, and... well, my art was worse then. I promise the more recent strips will be slightly less horrible. For an explanation of why I'm posting nine-year-old strips, see the about page.
to this:
The site still has a lot of broken links; sorry... see the about page for some explanation.
Why the change? Well, because I think we're past the strips now with the truly terrible art, to the point I was finally beginning to find my style. The art in these strips is still a little worse than my current art, but not so embarrassingly bad as to warrant the disclaimer. (Well... hm; on second thought I'm not so sure about that. I really don't like the art in this particular strip. But oh well; I guess I'm not going to put the previous disclaimer back now.) But, well, there are still all those broken links, so perhaps some sort of disclaimer is still in order... hopefully soon I'll get the page fixed up and no such disclaimer will be necessary at all.

Speaking of not liking the art on this strip... unfortunately, I don't think I did a good job at all when I drew this of conveying what was supposed to be going on. So perhaps I ought to explain. Yes, yes, I know, explaining kills the joke, but if you don't get what's going on the joke is already dead; I'm explaining not so much in an attempt to help you get the joke as just in case you're curious what's supposed to be happening. So here goes: While Erlak is talking, Jasda, behind him, accidentally snags her sleeve on a boulder. In the attempt to pull free, she accidentally rolls the boulder onto the hem of her robe. Unable to get it out, she grabs a nearby torch, in order to use it as a lever to move the boulder. She succeeds, but loses her balance in the attempt, falling into the pond.

If I were to try drawing this sequence of events now, nine years later and hopefully with a little more practice and skill, would I be able to do a better job of conveying what's supposed to be happening? Well... I'd certainly like to think so, of course, but honestly I'm not completely sure... (Though some close-ups of the caught robe and such might have helped, rather than trying to portray everything from a distance like I did...)
