So... apparently, on the world of Soup, mortals are capable of beating up gods.
Of course, Erlak is a very weak god, as gods go, and no doubt mortal would-be god-fighters would fare much less well against, say, Thrumger, or Jasda. Still, I guess this strip does establish that gods in this world are subject to ordinary physical damage, though perhaps not the more powerful gods.
Still, I'm going to say that, even though they did hurt him some, ordinary mortals wouldn't have been capable of doing any permanent damage to Erlak. We haven't seen anything that could actually kill a god... yet.
Okay, I take that back, actually... we have seen something that could kill a god. Namely, Drv'dxx, who would be capable of killing at least a relatively weak god, if he weren't magically bound to tend bar for them instead. Also, come to think of it, we've seen something else that could kill a god, namely other gods... we haven't seen it happen, of course, but I'm going to go ahead and say that gods can in fact kill each other. Still... there are other things out there that can kill gods that we haven't seen yet. But will. Next month.
Yeah, I know, there I go with the spoilers again. Dagnabbit.
Also, I just noticed, man, Nizini really lost some weight in that last panel. And some breast size.
