Comic strip for October 26 2023.
PANEL ONE: The champion rides the giant rat Nezhoni through a blasted landscape of leafless trees. CHAMPION: You know, I feel bad for how I behaved toward Erlak. From now on I'm going to treat him with a lot more reverence and respect. PANEL TWO: Close on the champion. CHAMPION: I mean, he did get those cultists to release us. Sure, he may not be the most powerful god, or the most impressive, but when it really counted he came through, and that's what's important. PANEL THREE: Nezhoni looks back to address the champion. NEZHONI: Actually, I prayed to the rat goddess Tfylaon, and she convinced Xak'lar to let us go... CHAMPION: _Erlak!_

I said a few days ago that I was going to set a goal to make one new strip this week, so I can get in the habit of doing so long before my backlog of old strips runs out in June. To nobody's surprise, I have not yet done so. But hey, that was just a few days ago; the week isn't over yet...

Just how many gods are there on this world, you might ask. And the answer is... I have no idea. I think in the strips that have been drawn so far, at least a few dozen are mentioned by name, and there are more that are seen in god crowd shots and not identified. (Both Xak'lar and Tfylaon have actually appeared in strips before, but they haven't been pointed out.) I guess if pressed I'll say there are maybe a few hundred gods, total, but don't hold me to that. Maybe there are thousands. Maybe it's not something I'll ever actually have to decide.
