Soup the Comic Strip by Alun Clewe
Comic strip for November 16 2023.
PANEL ONE: The champion and Trevalien continue talking. CHAMPION: But if this happens every few months, shouldn't his family be used to dealing with it by now? TREVALIEN: Well, I don't think it's always happened... PANEL TWO: Close on Trevalien TREVALIEN: There are some people who unwillingly change periodically like Maiz, who take another form at certain times. Sages believe the cycle is somehow linked to the stars. PANEL THREE: Closer on Trevalien's eyes TREVALIEN: But it's not something that they do starting with their births. One day it just starts happening. The beginning of the changes seems to be triggered by the experiencing of some sort of trauma. It's my belief that his almost becoming a human sacrifice triggered it in Maiz. PANEL FOUR: The champion pleads with Trevalien CHAMPION: Well, couldn't you just traumatize him back? TREVALIEN: I... don't think it works that way.

Huh, just noticed that on this strip my signature overlaps the panel border, and I actually inverted the part over the border so it would show up. That's... odd. Why did I do that? Wouldn't it have been easier to just... put the signature somewhere where it didn't overlap the panel border?

I cannot fully explain all my actions from more than twenty years ago. Heck, I can't fully explain all my actions from earlier today. For instance, why did I spend so much time today reading twenty-year old blog posts about bad RPG experiences? (Granted, it was while I was working on set so there were some limits to what I could be doing, but I still could have been doing something more productive than that. Oh well.)
