Comic strip for December 16 2023.
PANEL ONE: The champion points back at Morbop, the korg standing on Nezhoni's tail. CHAMPION: Well, if you're going to lead you to our money, Morbop is going to have to get off my mount's tail. PANEL TWO: The korg leader still points his sword at the champion's face. KORG #1: Oh, he is, is he? That certainly sounds like a trick to me! CHAMPION: Um... Yes. Yes, you're right. It is a trick. PANEL THREE: Close on the korg leader. KORG #1: Ah, ha! Nice try, but we're on to your tricks now, and we know it isn't really a trick, and you're just trying to trick us. KORG #1: Morbop, get off the tail. PANEL FOUR: The champion leans down to speak into Nezhoni's ear. CHAMPION: Let's get out of here as quickly as possible. NEZHONI: For once I'm with you, Bub. PANEL FIVE: Far view. The champion and Maiz ride off on Nezhoni. The korg robbers run after them. KORG #1: Hey! Wait for us! PANEL SIX: The korg robbers stare in dismay. PANEL SEVEN: The korg robbers discuss what just happened among themselves. KORG #1: They tricked us! KORG #3: Wait—if they told us they were tricking us, then did they really trick us? KORG #2: I'm confused!

You know, despite the mention in an earlier strip of the korg group being bunched up in the middle of the road, I... can't help but notice there doesn't actually seem to be a road here. In the previous strips, one could at least make the argument that we weren't seeing the road because the panels weren't showing the area under the characters' feet, but the fifth panel here is a wide enough view we really ought to see the road, and there's pretty clearly no road there. I guess one might be able to argue that the mention of the "middle of the road" wasn't mean literally, but first, it's not clear how else it would have been meant, and second, well, it wouldn't really make sense for there not to be a road, since the alternative is that the korg robbers were just hanging out in the middle of nowhere hoping to ambush random travelers who happened to pass by, and that the champion did happen to pass by that exact location, which... isn't altogether impossible, I guess, but seems improbable at best. So, yes, there totally ought to be a road there, and I didn't draw it. Sorry.
