Soup the Comic Strip by Alun Clewe
Comic strip for January 10 2024.
PANEL ONE: Angle on Erlak facing Nizini as the two of them sit on the bench. ERLAK: I dunno... maybe that's not such a good idea... I mean, she's already a grain goddess; what's she going to want with MORE grain–related stuff? PANEL TWO: Angle from slightly overhead of Erlak and Nizini sitting on the banch. NIZINI: Well, you're a god of SOUP, and you like it when people give you SOUP–related things. ERLAK: Well, yeah, but that's because it's SYMBOLIC! PANEL THREE: Closer on Nizini and Erlak. Erlak shrugs slightly. NIZINI: Symbolic? Symbolic of what? ERLAK: Of — of SOUP! PANEL FOUR: Slightly wider shot. NIZINI: Maybe you should just try to wow her with your stupendous eloquence. ERLAK: You know, for a goddess of sincerity, you've been using an awful lot of sarcasm lately.

What does a goddess of sincerity actually do, anyway? Does she have worshippers? Does she grant powers to her faithful? What influence does she have on the mortal world? I don't think those are things I really considered, but maybe they're worth exploring at some point. I did say I want to give Nizini more to do.
